Dr. Robert Turner
Robert “Rusty” P Turner, MD, MSCR, is the owner and CEO of Network Neurology in Charleston, South Carolina. He began this new endeavor with more than 16 years of faithful clinical work, teaching, and research at MUSC. He is a member of the Roper-St Francis Hospital System and an Associate Researcher with the MIND Research Institute in Irvine, California.
Dr. Turner maintains a full-time clinical, teaching, and neurophysiology practice with patients referred from throughout the southeastern regions of the United States. While working full time work at MUSC since 1997, he obtained a Master’s of Science degree in Clinical Research (epidemiology and biostatistics) in 2003 through the MUSC College of Graduate Studies.
He has since then been actively involved in ongoing clinical research with collaborative studies in non-invasive neurostimulation and neuromodulation techniques, as well as advanced techniques of EEG source analysis.
Dr. Turner’s current clinical research in non-invasive neuromodulation involves collaborating with colleagues in Charleston, South Carolina; Cape Town, South Africa; Mexico City, Mexico; Beijing, China; and several other clinical research practices throughout the United States.
Dr. Turner started his college career as a music and foreign language major, and during medical school, he also pursued Master’s training in Piano Performance at the University of Nebraska at Omaha Graduate School. After Medical School, his postgraduate training consisted of internship and residency in Pediatrics; followed by two fellowships, one in Adult/Child Neurology, and the second in Clinical Neurophysiology/EMG/Neuromuscular Disorders; and his current clinical/research emphases of pediatric epilepsy/epileptogenesis, the non-linear effects of auditory and music stimulation on the brain, as well as neuromodulation techniques.
He continues to pursue his love of music and is an accomplished classical pianist. He has received numerous awards and honors at MUSC over more than 16 years of diligent, dedicated service, including multiple Faculty Excellence Awards for teaching, AREA Awards for excellence in ambulatory care, Golden Apple Nominations and Awards, and double honors in humanism with the AAMC Humanism in Medicine Award and the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award.
Christine McCaslin, NP
Christine McCaslin, MS, RN, CPNP, obtained both her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio and is now board certified in the Primary and Acute Care of Pediatrics. Prior to this position, Christine worked in a variety of practice settings including Pediatrician’s Offices, a Pediatric Obesity Clinic, Cardiac and Neonatal Intensive Care Units, and the Emergency Department. She is especially interested in holistic health and educating about healthy habits. Christine is a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners. She enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, and playing volleyball in her free time.
Lauren Harris, RN
Lauren has been our nurse at Network Neurology since 2014. She completed her RN-BSN at MUSC after receiving her BS in Marketing and Management from Clemson University. Her favorite thing about working at Network Neurology is being able to spend time with and getting to know the patients. When she isn’t working, she likes to spend time with family, work out, and follow Clemson sports.
Jade Daigle, CMA
Jade is a CMA at Network Neurology since February of 2018. She has an Associate’s degree in Applied Science from ECPI University. Her favorite things about working at NN are learning and getting to work with great people. In her free time, she enjoys being outside and spending time with her daughter.
Charlie Wasserman, MS
Charlie joined the Network Neurology team after completing his graduate training in Behavioral Neuroscience (MS) at the University of Connecticut where his research focused on the synchronization of brain responses to rhythmic sounds, such as music and speech. While performing his graduate research he also received a certification in the Neurobiology of Language as part of a graduate fellowship through the National Science Foundation IGERT program. Charlie also has experience on the technical side of the EEG/Neurofeedback world, working for equipment and software developers/manufacturers who design the computer systems we use in the office to perform neurodiagnostic exams and neurofeedback therapy. In his free time Charlie is a freelance cellist performing with local community groups, and has two awesome ragdoll cats named Frodo and Violet.
Ashley is originally from Upstate New York where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a concentration in Behavioral Modification. Ashley has worked with children with special needs for just over 5 years in a variety of different roles. She has a passion for whole-person healthcare and has been with Network Neurology since 2017. She likes to stay active, preferably outdoors and loves to travel.
Kira is a 2018 graduate of the College of Charleston with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology. Her goal is to pursue a future career in the field of neuropsychology. Her hobbies outside of work include dance, photography, travel, and reading. She has been a neurofeedback technician with the Clinical Neurophysiology department since June 2018. Her favorite part about Network Neurology is the team atmosphere and the wonderful patients and their families.
Lauren is a 2018 graduate of Anderson University with a degree in psychology and hopes to pursue a career in neuropsychology. Besides office potlucks, her favorite thing about Network Neurology is working with great coworkers and patients. She has been a neurofeedback technician in the Clinical Neurophysiology department since October 2018. In her free time, she enjoys playing the guitar, being outdoors, traveling, and having quality family and friend time.
Katie has been with Network Neurology since before the beginning and has had a variety of roles within the practice. She has enjoyed learning about the business of medicine and loves to see the effects of neurofeedback and healthy lifestyle modifications in the lives of our patients. She is inspired by the dedication and compassion of the NN team. Outside the office, her favorite things are spending time with her husband, three children, and three granddaughters, reading, cooking, and enjoying beautiful weather – especially at the beach.
Katrina graduated with an Associates for Health Information Technology and an Associates for Medical Assisting. She has worked for over ten years in the medical setting. She is a strong wife and mother and she is blessed to be a part of the great team here at Network Neurology. She’s always finding a way to make your day a little brighter. How can she make your day amazing?
Anne was raised in a healthcare environment, her baseline for care standards and service excellence were established as she watched her parents conduct their operations as nursing-home administrators and owners. She is the author of two books, Keys to the Medical Front Office and If I Were Healthcare CEO. Holding a BA in communication from Monmouth University, West Long Branch, New Jersey, she is the mother of two daughters. In her spare time she enjoys reading, writing and painting.
Tonya has been in the medical billing profession for ten years and is happy to say that she is now the billing manager for Network Neurology. She is very excited to be apart of this amazing team! Tonya has lived in the Charleston area for eight years now, but is originally from Michigan. In her free time she enjoys softball, baking, and spending time with her three children and one grandson. They keep her busy and entertained!
